Cynical and sarcastic in lyrics, the song is about about a fictional story Robyn recalled that was inspired by Chicago's night scene and goth dance clubs, indicating that freedom on a dance floor opens up the doors to a universal realization that through bodily experiences and pleasure, new senses are born that allow music lovers to transcend societal norms and oftentimes discover creative avenues to guide the world away from merely following the rudimental guidance of religious and educational institutions, primarily associated with western occidental values.
